DIY Family Friday Week #12

This week's project comes to us straight from the fabulous Becky Higgins Blog. If you're not familiar with Becky, I highly recommend checking her out. She has awesome free printables on her website along with the amazing Project Life, which she has generously agreed to donate to our Premiere Night silent auction! (July 27, 2011 - don't forget!)

After seeing her hand print tradition, I decided that it would be a perfect DIY project for our FRC families. It's simple and you'll look back year after year and be amazed at how big your kids have gotten!

Acrylic paint in colors of your choice
Square stretched canvas
Photo easel (optional)

Michael's is a great place to pick all of these items up inexpensively!
Paint canvas the color of your choice. After the paint has dried completely, chose a contrasting paint and paint your little one's hand completely. Have your child spread their fingers apart as much as they can and then place their hand palm down on the canvas. Hold for approximately 3-5 seconds and on the count of 3 quickly pull the child's hand directly up from the canvas.

You should be left with a sweet little hand print! After the art work has dried, flip the canvas over and write your child's name, date the print was made and age on the back.
