First Connections
Parents as Teachers (PAT) Home Visiting
A professionally trained parent educator will visit your family monthly to share information and resources about child development and parenting topics using the nationally acclaimed Parents As Teachers Curriculum. This opportunity is available to parents living in Eau Claire or Dunn County who are expecting or adopting a baby, and/or whose child is under the age of 5.
As a PAT family, you will receive:
Highly-trained staff connect with families in the hospitals (Sacred Heart Hospital and Mayo Clinic Health Systems) to offer educational programming, support, encouragement, and resources for their most important job, parenting! Our staff visit the maternity departments at each hospital to connect with families, and First Connections is individualized for each family and can include:
- Resource & Referral
- Support
- Education
- Parent Connections
- Home Visits | Parents as Teachers
Parents as Teachers (PAT) Home Visiting
A professionally trained parent educator will visit your family monthly to share information and resources about child development and parenting topics using the nationally acclaimed Parents As Teachers Curriculum. As a PAT family, you will receive:
- Personal Visits: During these visits, your parent educator will share age-appropriate child development and parenting information, help you learn to observe your child and address your parenting concerns.
- Parent Group Meetings: These meetings provide the opportunity to share information about parenting issues and child development. Parents learn and support each other, observe their children with other children and practice parenting skills.
- Screenings: Assessment of your child's overall development as well as health, hearing and vision.
- Resource Network: This network will link your family to other community services.

Young Athletes 2013 Winter - YMCA
The young athletes group will soon be starting at the YMCA. Please fill out the form below and send it to the address at the bottom of the form prior to attending the group. One form is required for each child planning to attend. It is a new year and everyone needs to fill out registration, regardless of past participation!

In conjunction with the Special Olympics Wisconsin Young Athletes, the Family Resource Center is proud to sponsor the Young Athletes Play and Learn Group! The Young Athlete Program is a sports play program for children ages 2-7 of ALL abilities. We will have fun with walking & running, balance & jumping, trapping & catching, throwing, striking, kicking and more!
Advanced registration is required.
